Responsibilities
- Compute taxes owed or overpaid, using adding machines or personal computers, and complete entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables.
- Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses.
- Use all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to keep clients’ taxes to a minimum.
- Interview clients to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
- Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
- Furnish taxpayers with sufficient information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Consult tax law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns.
- Calculate form preparation fees according to return complexity and processing time required.
- Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.

- 2+ years prior work experience as a tax preparer
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours during peak season
- CPA certification a plus

Management Trainee
Responsibilities
- Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and managing p&l. accountable for achieving monthly, quarterly and annual financial targets and cash control in the assigned geographical area.
- Maintain relationships with brokers, property managers and landlords as well as coordinate with facilities to determine budget and completion schedules.
- Ensures all assigned locations meet company standards including but not limited to: office set up, build-outs and breakdown; technology set up, telecommunications, office supplies and facilities maintenance.
- Set targets and manages all aspects of marketing, recruiting, hiring and training and supervising seasonal staff in the assigned geographical area. ensures the team is trained on office, system and procedural operations; tax software functionality and fraud detection and customer service.
- Develops and manages tax school, including instructor and student recruitment, as well as conversion of students into seasonal associates.
- Ensure that stores excel in customer service and implement marketing initiatives while maintaining corporate quality and compliance standards. handle all employee and client issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring all federal, state and company compliance regulations are met in all areas. Audits paperwork for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
Requirements
- One to three years’ previous management experience in a multi-site environment preferred
- Consumer retail experience necessary
- Tax knowledge preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced working environment
- Proficiency with excel
- Reliable transportation, own insurance and driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to work flexible hours during peak season
- Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs.
